    Did you know?

          Land around Marina Bay was reclaimed throughout the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. The first detailed land use plan was exhibited in 1992. Planners have worked on this project from the 1970s until today.

    Interesting facts from the photos.

    Noticeably, Marina Centre where Mandarin and Pan Pacific Hotel are, were not there in 1976. It was just a piece of reclaimed land in 1976. The only way to drive from Marina Centre to Shenton Way in the 80's was via the Anderson Bridge in front of Fullerton Hotel. The Esplanade Bridge was only up after 1992. Very interesting photos!

    What to expect at Marina Bay in 2014?

    We have seen 3 major projects completed in 2013 at Marina Bay;
    1.       Partial Downtown Line opened
    2.       Marina Coastal Expressway (MCE) opened
    3.       Completion of Westin at Asia Square Tower 2
    What to expect at Marina Bay this year? With the opening of MCE, more developments are expected at Marina South. The Marina One Residences (a joint venture between Malaysia and Singapore) is expected to be launched this year. We also can expect more biking facilities around the 3.5km bay area. Besides biking, pedestrians are also expected to experience a more enjoyable walk around the 3.5km bay when a new pedestrian bridge is opened later this year.
    Cheers to the new year!
